FAQs

1. Will my car fit on it?

Only the wheels need to be located on the turntable, any overhang can sweep over adjacent land areas including grassed areas if there is sufficient ground clearance on the car. The required free space diameter of the turning area needed is the diagonal dimension of car to be turned.

2. How long does it take to fit?

We can usually deliver and fit in a single day.

3. What site preparation is required?

Site preparation as follows is best provided by a local builder:

  • Flat area of ground the size of the turntable
  • Hole at the perimeter to take the motor box
  • 13A socket and an underground conduit to the motor hole

4. What surfaces can it be laid on?

The turntable is usually fitted above ground. It can be laid directly onto tarmac, block paving, concrete, gravel or even turf.

5. Can it be flush mounted?

Yes, however drainage issues must be taken into consideration. Either the ground can be excavated a small amount to receive the turntable, or alternatively the turntable can be laid on the surface and the surrounding area made up with feature paving.

6. Can it be used for temporary displays?

Yes, the turntable can sit flat on the ground or floor. It can be used for a large variety of applications and is particularily suited to those of a temporary nature such as a car show room.

7. What if I need help?

Should you need help or support then you can phone for free technical advice. If this does not sort out the problem, then we can arrange for a service engineer to call.

8. Is it covered by a warranty?

The equipment is covered by a 12 month warranty.

9. Is it safe?

The turntable has been checked for compliance with the ESHR legal directives. It has a number of added safety features for extra protection:

  • Emergency stop
  • Key lock-off option
  • Will not restart unexpectedly after a power failure
  • Anti-slip surface
  • Operated by remote control with press-&-hold operation as standard

10. How durable is it?

The turntable surface is made of premium quality non-corrosive aluminium and can take vehicles up to 2 tons. The main parts are laser cut from CAD drawings to give a highly accurate and repeatable result. Internal parts and fixings are Stainless Steel. The motor and gearbox have been chosen for quality, ruggedness and reliability.

11. Is the key-fob secure?

A high security keyfob is used, which changes code on each transmission. This is un-noticed by users and is fully compatible with multi-keyfob usage.

12. How many keyfobs can be used?

A total of 10 keyfobs can be used with a single turntable.

13. If it is so thin – how does it work?

It is made of three layers – a bit like a flexible sandwich. The lower layer is stationary, the top layer rotates and the centre layer provides highly distributed support for the top layer and rotates at half the speed.
